Founder
Nadeya Ward
Originally from Roanoke, VA, Nadeya studied acting at NYU TISCH before spending 11 years in Los Angeles, where she completed her 200-hour and 300-hour yoga trainings with Tamal Dodge. In 2020, she opened 3S Yoga in Richmond, VA, and also runs The Meditation Ward, working with clients on meditation and wellness. A meditation coach, certified Health and Wellness Coach, and Reiki Master, Nadeya is passionate about helping others on their wellness journeys. She brings a sense of play to everything she does, from yoga and coaching to comedy and music. At 3S, her philosophy is captured by the words on the wall: "The Spirit Plays."

Kelly Jones
Kelly, a Richmond native and VCU graduate.
Kelly completed her yoga teacher training at CorePower in 2017 and is currently studying under Commune Yoga out of Seattle. Kelly has taught at studios across Atlanta, Austin, Richmond, and Charlottesville. She joined 3S Yoga in 2021, stepping into the manager role in November 2023. You’ll often find her buzzing around the studio or leading our Hardywood Brewery classes and sound baths.

Elany Prousalis
Lany believes the discovery of one's potential for creative energy, strength, and wisdom, can be found through the practice of yoga. Her classes have a quest for freedom and fun while concentrating on the fluidity of movement with the breath. Lany has completed Michael Hamilton's Ashtanga Teacher Intensive and her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification with Sandra Pleasants from the Iyengar tradition and Jennifer Elliot of Ashtanga Yoga.

Sara Garrett
Sara got into yoga after needing a real mental shift in thinking. She started with online classes and loved how the movement got her out of her head and into her body. She kept a strong home practice for several years before finally receiving her 200-hour vinyasa training at The Yoga Dojo. Yoga has single-handedly changed her perspective on life.

Corinne Torres
Corinne found yoga in college and has been a certified yoga instructor since 2015. Her philosophy is that you are whole and complete exactly as you are; there is nothing to fix, and anything is possible. All students are welcome, capable, and worthy of experiencing a total mind-body ‘floss’ where they can reconnect with themselves and their community. She likes to create strong and sweaty flows to build muscle and melt tension. Let's get upside down and have fun!

Joy Polefrone
Joy has been a student of yoga since 1998 and a teacher since 2001, completing her 200- and 500-hr RYT certifications through Yoga Source in Richmond, VA and Boston Yoga School in MA.
With her background in the sciences, Joy’s yoga teaching emphasizes an observer’s mind and the cultivation of presence in postures both on and off the mat. Her teaching has been inspired by senior teachers in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Tantra, Yin, meditation, and mindfulness, as well as somatic movement and bodywork. Joy’s personal practice and teaching is currently centered on Tantric Hatha yoga.

Brandi Bovell
Brandi began practicing yoga in 2009 and quickly discovered its power to calm the mind and nourish the soul. Her love for yoga grew through the years, even during pregnancies with her three children. In 2022, she became a certified teacher through Yoga Renew and registered with Yoga Alliance. Brandi’s classes blend movement, long holds, and mini massages to help students deepen their practice and find connection.

Margarita Prokofyeva
Margarita began her yoga journey at 16, discovering the joy and connection a personal practice can bring. She completed her 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training in Chennai, India, in an experience she describes as unplanned and transformative. Margarita believes yoga helps us come home to ourselves, building stronger, more compassionate communities. Her classes are designed to tap into the peace and love within—come join her and leave feeling more connected.

H Bondurant
H has been sharing yoga with diverse communities for over 13 years, from cancer centers to music festivals. Introduced to yoga through Pilates, they completed their teacher training in 2011 and have studied with yogis like Kathryn Budig and Jessamyn Stanley. Now teaching at the University of Richmond, H blends their academic background in philosophy, psychology, and dance into classes focused on breath, body awareness, and mindfulness. Known for themed playlists and Queer Joy Yoga, H’s classes welcome all levels with a mix of meditation, pranayama, and challenging vinyasa flows.

Sydney Gustafson
Sydney is originally from western North Carolina, but has called the Richmond area home for the past 15 years. After a knee injury and the birth of her first son ended her rugby habit, she found yoga as a meaningful and fulfilling way to stay active and present in her body. She loves that each practice is personal to the practitioner and can fit whatever needs one may have in that moment — whether it be a good, fun sweaty time, or a relaxing and restorative stretch. And every practice presents a challenge to overcome! Expect good vibes and a hot playlist when taking her class.

Kate Archer
Kate has practiced yoga on and off for years but took on learning about all aspects yoga during the beginning of 2021. Kate achieved her 200 hour vinyasa teaching training through My Vinyasa Practice as a way to deepen her personal practice; but found a passion for bringing yoga to others in the process. Kate is a registered nurse and has seen how yoga helps her physically and mentally inside and outside of her job. Her favorite style of yoga is a toss-up between vinyasa and restorative yoga styles, getting the heat from vinyasa and peace from restorative.

Courtney Johnson
Courtney discovered yoga after moving to Colorado, using it as recovery from long days snowboarding in the Rockies. Drawn first to its physical benefits, she later embraced its spiritual and emotional depth, leading her to complete her 500-hour TTC in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga at Rishikesh Yog Peeth in India. She also taught at Bali Surf and Yoga Retreat Center in Indonesia, further enriching her journey. Courtney’s classes are welcoming and relatable, encouraging students to "live their yoga" by bringing mindfulness and intention into everyday life.

Cabell Haneberg
Cabell got her 200hr certification with Nexus Institute in Nosara, Costa Rica and is beyond excited to teach in her hometown, RVA! She believes that a healthy mind leads to a healthy body, and has found that yoga in any capacity is healing. Students of all abilities are welcome in her class and she makes an effort to offer lots of options and modifications so they every student can participate.

Izzy O'Malley
Isabel began her yoga journey at 3S Studio in Richmond, Va. She fell in love with the practice, all of the wonderful teachers, and the benefits she got out of each class. She began sharing yoga with her family and friends, and eventually received her 200 hour teacher certification in 2023 from Yoga Salt in Wilmington, NC. Isabel is passionate about classes that help people feel connected to themselves in a welcoming and fun environment.

Brittany Morton
Brittany found a passion for movement and yoga as a young teen, but it was during a turbulent time in her life that she learned to integrate the practice in both mind and body. Learning to be present with her breath and body through yoga offered her inner peace and the ability to overcome life’s challenges. This inspired her to complete her 200HR YTT, and an additional 100 Yin YTT. She believes all people are capable of experiencing inner peace through yogic practices, and that the tools are already within them.

Aidan Phillips
After 4 years of college basketball, Aidan moved to the Richmond area in 2021 to pursue a career in nursing. Quickly realizing she was craving physical movement and mindfulness, she fell into the world of yoga and never looked back. She took her 200 hr RYT at Humble Haven in 2023, which focused on Baptiste Power yoga. She loves the strength, calmness, and empowerment that come from her yoga practice and wants to share that with everyone she teaches.

Nadine Dorrington
Nadine, a classically-trained ballet dancer, discovered yoga in her teens and became a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She has been teaching ballet since 1991 and yoga since 2007, completing her initial teacher training at Charlottesville Yoga School and an advanced training with Cyndi Lee in 2016. Nadine has also led 200-hour teacher trainings and a mentorship program, emphasizing a holistic approach tailored to each individual. She believes that by connecting body and breath, everyone can access yoga’s transformative benefits.

Kayla Currie
Kayla, a 200-hour registered yoga instructor trained at Salute The Sun in Charlottesville, VA, discovered yoga in college as a way to manage anxiety and depression. The practice became a space for healing and self-discovery, inspiring her to complete teacher training in 2023. Kayla’s mission is to hold space for others to journey inward, discover, and transform through yoga.

Deepak Subudhi
A Richmond native, Deepak received his in-person RYT 200 certificate from Embrace Yoga Energy Yoga in Bangkok, Thailand in 2022. In 2023 Deepak became a certified personal trainer through W.I.T.S and N.C.A.A program, and in 2024 he completed his 300 YTT training in Indore, India at Paramanand Institute of Yoga. He now holds a RYT 500 distinction from Yoga Alliance.

Leah Johnson
Leah, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, has over 10 years of experience teaching alignment-based Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, as well as Yin, Slow Flow, and Restorative styles. Her teaching emphasizes clear verbal cues, allowing for individualized adjustments and a deep focus on alignment. With a passion for healing through movement, she integrates her physical therapy expertise to support students recovering from injuries and managing chronic pain. Leah believes yoga is a journey of connection—between body, breath, and spirit—where every pose is adaptable to each unique body. For her, yoga is both simple and profound, a practice of awareness, patience, and self-discovery.

Halle began practicing yoga when she was 18, searching for an escape out of her head and into her body. It quickly became a safe space to grow and learn about herself through the combination of stillness and movement that yoga uniquely provides. In 2021, she decided to dive deeper into her practice and earn her 200-hour certification from High Vibration Living in St. Petersburg, FL; training in all things Ashtanga. She is an occupational therapist by day and is passionate about helping others become more independent and trusting of their bodies and inate inner wisdom.

Tia Platte
Tia Platte, eRYT-500/YACEP, is a movement facilitator, yoga educator, and trained contemporary dancer with over 20 years of experience. A VCU Dance graduate, she integrates somatic techniques, yoga philosophy, and embodied psychology into her teaching. Passionate about mindful movement, she fosters self-inquiry, curiosity, and playfulness in her students. Former owner of Yoga Source in Richmond, she now leads Taj Wellness, offering movement labs, yoga, and community events. Tia invites students to expand, connect, and deepen their practice with an open mind.
